Harvest
Corner is housed in a delightful heritage building
centrally located in the Main Street of Minlaton.
Together with our beautiful hand made craft this creates
an ambience of “olde worlde” charm that
is often lost in today’s busy modern life. Step
back in time and experience the beauty and grace of
yesterday – see the magnificent handiwork created
by local crafts people. Our aim is to generate an
economic contribution to the community and encourage
others to use their skills by providing an outlet
for their endeavours.
We
stock a comprehensive range of quality craft and produce
including embroidery, pottery, patchwork, toys, cards,
timberwork, locally grown plants, jams, sauces, olive
oil, biscuits, and chocolates to name but a few! Harvest
Corner’s suppliers are happy to make goods to
order, creating the ideal match for your décor.
Gift Vouchers are available for purchase.
One
of our suppliers, Reptile Art produces very impressive
plaster casts of reptiles, which are sold in various
parts of Australia and also overseas. These reptiles
are very popular, particularly with overseas visitors.
In
our Art Gallery we have prints on canvas by renowned
local artists Mark Short and Marie Parsons and the
award winning Allyson Parsons. Allyson was only 18
when she won her first major prize in 1984. She was
born profoundly deaf, and her persistence and courage
have led to her becoming one of the most sought after
artists in the country. We also showcase paintings
by other local artists based on the Yorke Peninsula.
Alpaca
wool and jumpers knitted from produce grown on Mark
Short’s property, “Alpacas Chaparral”
located just minutes from Minlaton, are available
in the Gallery at Harvest Corner. Hand knitting has
experienced a revival in recent years, and alpaca
wool is very popular. This wool is the best insulating
wool in the world, apart from the fleece of the polar
bear! The wool is smooth and soft, creating beautiful
garments which can be ordered in your choice of size
and colour. Mark also likes to paint, and his favourite
subject is his alpacas!
We
are happy to wrap goods in protective bubble wrap
and box goods to ensure they travel safely. Our high
quality craft goods are often bought as birthday gifts
and we have on hand a supply of tissue paper and ribbons
for wrapping.
