Wendy Story says “Thank you to all our volunteers for their efforts, and the community for their support. It is very exciting to be recognised as the best information centre in the State. Our volunteers strive to provide a professional service, and enjoy working in such a happy atmosphere.”
Yorke Peninsula Visitor Information Centre is staffed by 42 volunteers who work together to showcase the best local produce, craft and art that the Peninsula has to offer. They are passionate about the provision of information and encouraging visitors to spend longer enjoying our fabulous Peninsula.
Fourteen years ago, a small group of people had a dream – to create a place where local people could find an outlet for their hand crafted creations, that was open seven days a week, and provided information for the increasing number of visitors to Yorke Peninsula. Today our Centre is an accredited visitor information centre displaying the blue and yellow “i” and we regularly receive comments from satisfied visitors that “it’s the best information centre we’ve seen!”
Our facilities include a great display of locally created craft and produce, an art gallery showcasing local artists, internet access for the public, and Tearooms where you can sit and chat to the volunteers while enjoying a great coffee and slice of home baked cake. If you are planning a visit to Yorke Peninsula, we can help you with information on where to stay and what to do. Just give us a call on 1800 202 445.
