Harvest Corner Art Gallery |
|
Harvest Corner’s Art Gallery contains a fabulous display of original art as well as prints on canvas – all available for purchase.
We showcase a number of artists from around the Peninsula, with a regularly changing display by a feature artist. In our Art Gallery we have works by renowned local artists Mark Short and Marie Parsons and the award winning Allyson Parsons. Allyson was only 18 when she won her first major prize in 1984. She was born profoundly deaf, and her persistence and courage have led to her becoming one of the most sought after artists in the country. Our gallery also features basket work by local June Faulkner, who utilises native grasses woven throughout her works.
Pottery by Jenny Denton, and worked timber items also feature. Alpaca wool and hand knitted items from produce grown on Mark Short’s property, “Alpacas Chaparral” located just minutes from Minlaton, are available in the Gallery at Harvest Corner. Hand knitting has experienced a revival in recent years, and alpaca wool is very popular. This wool is the best insulating wool in the world, apart from the fleece of the polar bear! The wool is smooth and soft, creating beautiful garments which can be ordered in your choice of size and colour. Mark also likes to paint, and his favourite subject is his alpacas. We are happy to wrap goods in protective bubble wrap and can box goods to ensure they travel safely.
Our high quality items are often bought as birthday gifts and we have on hand a supply of tissue paper and ribbons for wrapping.
