Yorke
Peninsula Visitor Information Centre services the
area of the Central and Southern Yorke Peninsula and
is a joint venture with the District Council of the
Yorke Peninsula.
We
are open seven days a week, Monday to Friday between
9am and 5pm, Saturday and Sunday and public holidays
between 10am and 4pm. We are closed on Good Friday
and Christmas Day.
As
an accredited Visitor Information Centre we have a
large range of brochures for Yorke Peninsula and the
other regions of South Australia. We stock a comprehensive
range of regional maps, visitor guides and information
on local attractions, restaurants and accommodation.
Our range of tourism information includes a large
variety of publications provided by the South Australian
Tourism Commission.
We believe that locals are the best guides to the
area and the friendly volunteers who staff the Centre
are always happy to share their knowledge. Look for
us in our easy to find central location with convenient
parking for caravans and motor homes.
A
large range of souvenirs is available including spoons,
stubby holders, T-shirts for adults and children,
caps and hats, badges and stickers. We also stock
a variety of history books covering Yorke Peninsula’s
fascinating heritage.
Harvest
Corner has provisions for people in wheel chairs including
a designated accessible car parking space that is
clearly marked with the international access symbol
(wheelchair symbol) and located close to the entrance.
Access to Harvest Corner is provided by double width
opening doors. Our wide aisles between brochure and
souvenir stands mean easy access for people with limited
mobility.
To
facilitate tourists who arrive in town after hours,
we have a Tourism TouchScreen which provides access
to 24 hour information. A map of the Yorke Peninsula
is located outside our Centre and includes a street
map of Minlaton. This map also lists emergency phone
numbers. Stocks of the Yorke Peninsula Regional Guide
and the Central and Southern Yorke Peninsula Visitor’s
Guide are kept in brochure racks outside the building.
We
are happy to mail out our regional brochures and information
on attractions and accommodation in the area. If you
would like more information, please call our friendly
volunteers on 08 8853 2600.
